By

Shopping anywhere in British Columbia is an experience in itself and one of the more popular things to do, other than the many outdoor activities. In fact, shopping can be an outdoor activity in some towns, like Whistler Village, as it is mainly pedestrian only. This means that you can walk from shop to shop because cars are not allowed in these towns. Shopping is especially fun if you know where to shop. There are many shopping malls, retail shops, and plenty of opportunities to do some shopping at a discount. To find these great shopping centers and malls, all you have to do is go online or, if you are in British Columbia, look in some of the many towns for some store flyers.
British Columbia Retail Shops

Kelowna is actually the major retail center in the interior of BC and Kelowna has just about every retail shop to suit everyone's needs from great specialty shops all the way to national chains. Kelowna also has the largest shopping centre between Calgary and Vancouver called the Orchard Park Shopping Centre. This centre has over 150 stores and shops, many of which are represented locally. Kelowna is only one of the many towns you can find in BC that have just about every retail shop to fit your shopping desires.
Some of the retail shops that came be found in the coastal areas of British Columbia include Vancouver, Whistler, Richmond and Victoria that specifically cater to more of an eclectic mix of many Asian influenced shops; therefore, if you are in the mood to experience a world apart from yours, this is the place to shop at. If you are in the interior of BC and toward the Rocky Mountain ridgeline, visit some great local shopping centers with a "small town" attitude in cities such as Abbotsford and Kelowna.

One place to find such coupons is through the internet where you can find almost any British Columbia store or shop that is offering coupon savings. This saves plenty of time if you are looking to save money at a specific store. Another way to find BC shop coupons is in the towns themselves. Many times local news papers and such will have store flyers and free coupons that are able to be cut out of the papers.
British Columbia Shopping Malls
Shopping Malls are a great thing, but, in British Columbia, some shopping malls are found in or are the same thing as shopping centers. There numerous shopping malls throughout BC, one of the largest being in Vancouver. There are a lot of Asian inspired shopping centers in Richmond, BC. Parker Place Shopping Centre is one of the largest Asian inspired malls in western Canada. You don't necessarily need to visit the large shopping malls that provide a multiple level shopping experience, but, the smaller single floor shopping malls in smaller cities will satisfy your craving for great values at a fraction of the cost of what you find in larger shopping malls.

Online Shopping is a Quick Fix For the Designer Shopaholic

By

Nowadays people are busier than ever. Between longer workdays and commutes, school and after-school activities, and all of the other activities that overload the average person's schedule, who has time to shop? Let alone spend an entire day of browsing the sale racks at the mall or even to make a trip to the local grocery store! Luckily, technology has kept up with the onset of increased tasks and shopping for the perfect accessory or must-have designer handbag is at our fingertips. Ahhhh...feed the addiction. A quick fix is only a few clicks away.
One doesn't need the latest statistics to understand the increase of online shopping, they merely need to log onto the Internet or check their email for a barrage of advertising for the latest online deal, hottest fashion or fad. Although pop-up ads and email campaigns can be annoying, the advantages of online shopping far outweigh the task of cleaning out your junk mail every couple of days.
Despite the increase in online shopping throughout the world, there are many consumers who still feel the time spent going from store-to-store to find what they are looking for is better than shopping from the comfort of their own homes. However in the hours it takes to drive to several stores to compare inventory and prices, one could logon to the computer and use a web site such as Google.com to see what's available in a matter of minutes, and in some instances, a matter of seconds!
Don't believe shopping online can be as simple as a matter of minutes? Let's say that a female consumer wants to find the latest trend in designer purses at the best price. She could either visit the high-end retail department stores in her city searching for her favorite style at a reasonable retail price, or she can type in "authentic designer handbags" at Google.com and instantly find the best place to shop online for authentic designer handbags.
The number one placement on Google is a winner because it offers below retail pricing, many purchase options, new and vintage designer purses, and a money back guarantee of authenticity. It takes more time to turn on the computer than it does to find one of the best sites to shop for authentic designer handbags with below retail pricing.
Too easy you say? Well, many websites offer the latest brands, styles, colors, fabrications, and does all the merchandising for you. There's may even be a layaway plan for the budget conscious. Using layaway allows consumers to place the entire order on an easy payment plan and choose the dates they can make three equal payments. To think this can all be done without having to wait in a Customer Service Center line makes shopping online more than worth the small effort.
Websites make it easy for consumers to browse through inventory and price compare without having to waste time because all the stock is available in one click. The best websites also include a Search function to find products quickly by name or category. Check out the Sale or Final Clearance sections and take an additional 10% - 20% off the already deeply discounted designer handbags and accessories - up to 80% off retail.
Obviously, the pros outweigh the negatives of online shopping, and a quick look at the pros and cons may help. Before you read them, think about the last experiences you had at a brick-and-mortar full-priced retail store. Was it a pleasant experience? Was it easy to find parking? Were people friendly and helpful? Did the kids, your partner, or friends enjoy the experience? Did you find what you were looking for? Or, did the day out-and-about fall short of your expectations? Personally, the pros and cons are obvious if one takes the time to think about them. Maybe there isn't much difference between an online and in-store shopping experience. The bottom line, top three pros for online shopping are convenience, efficiency and cost.
Pros Internet Shopping
o Open 24-hour / 7-day-a-week / 365 days-per-year
o Inventory is similar or better than retail stores
o Variety is more diverse - a Global experience
o Cheaper than retail in most cases
o Prices are sometimes negotiable online
o Ease of product / price comparisons
o Increased encryption and security
o Comfortable from your own home
o Convenience at your fingertips
o Privacy laws to protect consumers
o Efficient use of time
o Email communication
o Authenticity guarantee
o Private memberships for Sales
o Free shipping at many sites
o No sales tax except the residential State
o Coupons for discounts more prevalent
Cons Internet Shopping
o Shipping costs
o Inability to touch, smell, taste, try on!
o Returns / refunds not as accessible
o Must use a credit or debit card to make purchases
o Security
o Authenticity of product
After reading the following list of the pros vs. cons of shopping online, let your personal time-clock and wallet be the judge. Although it appears the higher amount of pros justify the cons, the small amount of cons has deterred many people from feeling comfortable with online shopping. Many sites have addressed the doubts associated with making purchases online. To take the first step of overcoming fear for shopping online, do research and establish communication with someone at the website.
For instance, send an email and see what happens. Or, if you are afraid the site is not secure? Click on the website's security certificate logo. An active, secure site will read something like "Valid Certificate: Secure authentic sites use SSL Certificates to offer secure communications by encrypting all data to and from the site." Most every legitimate site has addressed the security problem by increasing encryption complexity as well as offering an "authenticity guarantee" on all products.
Don't like paying for shipping? Many sites now offer no shipping for minimum purchases or lowered shipping costs.
Look around, and shop at a website offering minimal cons and maximum pros. Just like any other store or boutique, a website has a set of policies and guidelines. Any reputable company will apply the policies consistently for all customers. Find a place to shop online where you feel comfortable, safe and the intuitive atmosphere fits your budget and style!
So, the next time you want to find a perfect designer handbag, why not spend less time shopping for the purse and more time, well, enjoying the free time you saved by shopping online!

Lingerie Shopping Anxiety Solved

By

Lingerie shopping can be intimidating in many ways to both men and women. For men, lingerie shopping can be embarrassing. For women, it is often about self-image and self-esteem. Whether you are plus-sized or looking for smaller sizes, the experience of lingerie shopping does not have to be a bad one.
The best way to do lingerie shopping, without having to look a salesperson in the eye or look at the person next to you and what he or she is grabbing off the rack, is online. Online lingerie shopping can help you avoid many of the uncomfortable aspects of buying such apparel. To do your lingerie shopping online, it is best to try to find a website that is easy to use, comfortable, and informative. Find a site that has good search capability so that it doesn't turn into a day-long task. Check out the site's customer service options along with shipping costs, how discrete the shipping is, and of course how much their items costs in comparison to other online retailers.
In some cases, lingerie shopping is a step in preparation for a special occasion. In this case, there are things you need to keep in mind. For one, make sure that anything you have to special order or purchase online is done early enough so that the items arrive on time. When lingerie shopping, check to see if the retailer carries most items in stock. You may want to keep to the places that stock the items so you don't have to plan for stocking or can simply plan for ship time, and no wait. Just to be safe, it may even be advisable to do your lingerie shopping first, get the items you want, and then plan your special evening or occasion.
Another thing to keep in mind when lingerie shopping, and you should especially keep this in mind if you are shopping for someone else, is current trends in the industry. For instance, many sites are reporting that there is a huge trend toward corsets recently. When looking for something like a corset, be sure you understand what qualities are best in such a piece. For example, most lingerie shopping experts advise that a corset is best if the boning in it is metal. Plastic boning, apparently, is not as practical and thus lacks the firm hold you can get from metal boning in corsets.
Lingerie shopping can also be a way of building a relationship. Men and women can do this together, which can be enlightening and can heat things up in anticipation of the night's events. It is a chance for the man to go lingerie shopping without feeling awkward, at the same time, the woman can go to find out what he likes and what he wants her to buy and try. Couple lingerie shopping can also be a way of supporting one another through what is often an uncomfortable process for both.
Lingerie shopping can be difficult and uncomfortable for both men and women. However, it is the only way to obtain items for those special evenings. It is good thing, then, that there are ways to make it easier. You can do your lingerie shopping online in an effort to avoid sales people, other customers whose body you envy or, for the men, the feeling of being in the wrong place. The other option is supporting one another by lingerie shopping as a couple. No matter what your manner of coping is, lingerie shopping can be fun and enjoyable, if only for the end result of the work.

Holiday Shopping the Easy Way

By

This article has been written to save you gas, money, and time with your holiday shopping.
I have been shopping for years. (Clothes being my specialty) I have been to many a mall at 8:30pm during the holiday season, waiting in line while my feet ache and sweat ran down my brow. The thought of carrying bags, and boxes from one store to another in search of the right gift, for the right person, at the right price, is nothing short of terrifying.
Think about it for a second. How does the average person shop? There are two main ways. By impulse buying, or by making a list and following it. When you do the impulse buying thing, you put your god given memory skills to the true test. You're out driving back home from work or it's the weekend and your running around for one reason or another. You see a store, you say, "I have enough money to get some of these gifts out of the way. You pull in the parking lot and from that moment on your time is gone, your body is about to be worked out and you don't even know if your going to find the gift your looking for. You walk around hoping you'll see a gift for the right person, at the right price. Good luck! You might have some time left in your day to catch a movie later if it works out. There is no guarantee of success.
Let's look at the other way. You plan your list and your time. First of all it has to be a day off, and I do mean a whole day off. After you have planned to shop on a certain day you have to go down your list and think about who gets what and how much you plan to spend. You're ready. It's off to the mall or to one of the all in one superstores. You have a good plan but who knows how much your going to spend on each gift, an how long it's going to take. Best case scenario you get all your gifts, for all the right people at the prices you expected. Guess what? Bags and boxes that's what! If you did get everything, you needed, you still have to get them to the car and unpack the car when you get home. Not to mention the gas money and the mall's food expense to keep your energy up.
Have no fear......there is a better way!
Online Shopping is it!!!!!!!!
Nearly everything you can find at a mall or a superstore can be purchased on line at a competitive price with easy delivery. Your only added expense is shipping and handling, and if you get all the items you need from one online store, the shipping and handling cost will be far less than the price of gas to the mall and something to eat while you were there.
Let's look at a comparison:
Shopping the old way.........
Positives......
1.) Get all the items you need for your holiday shopping. That's it! The only thing you can be happy about is that the shopping is done.
Negatives......
1.) Time...The average impulse shopping experience last 1-2 hours per session. The average planned shopping experience for the holiday season is over 15 hours spread out over a week or two.
2.) Gas.....You spend at least a half a tank of gas shopping around for all that stuff. With gas prices the way they are now, that could be about 20 bucks for the old SUV or minivan.
3.) Physical Stress...Walking back and forth to the car is a workout. Walking around a mall or superstore is a workout. Bringing the bags in the house is a workout. If you wanted a workout, you would have headed to the gym. Right?
4.) Mental Stress...Having to go to different stores to complete your shopping list when you don't know if the items will be the right gift, for the right person, at the right price is stressful.
Now let's look at shopping on line...........
Positives......
1.) Time...Self explanatory this one is. It takes the average person 1 minute to get online. 1 more minute to go to their choice of online store. Another 10 or 15 minutes to check off some names as you select your items, about another 5 minutes to enter your payment information into the appropriate places and print out your receipt. Walla!!!!!! 30 minutes tops! Think of what you could do with all that time. (Definitely catch that movie huh?)
2.) Gas......What gas? You don't use any. You save it all for those trips to the movie theater. You don't even need a car. You just need an address to send your gift too. You could even send the item to the person your going to give the gift too no matter where they are in the world, and save yourself time wrapping it!!! (Ever get a gift in the mail? It's a great feeling.)
3.) Physical Stress...There is none!!!! No bags to carry, no walks through the malls, no lines to wait in, no fumbling with credit cards, receipts, money or bags while your in the store. All you have to do is lift a finger to click a mouse.
4.) Less Mental Stress...Think about all the planning that goes into doing all of your shopping the traditional way. All you have to do here is make a list, and check it off as you go.
Negatives......
1.) You must have a computer with an internet connection. Which you already have because you're reading this article. That is the only negative...
There are some things that every serious online shopper should know before they begin their online shopping experience. Here they are:
1.) To make the best use of your time, pick an online store that carries more than one type of item. It should be a mini-mall. They should have products that you would buy for yourself and something for everyone you want to shop for.
2.) The store should have a shopping cart. This feature will allow you to pick up different items while your shopping, and put them together in one place, for review (whether you buy the items or not) before your final purchase.
3.) The store should have some kind of FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page that can help you with anything that you might need to know about the store. If not a FAQ page, definitely some type of Customer Service Contact Information.
4.) The store should have a picture of the item with a good description next to it. That's right!!! An actual description of the item. When you go into a traditional store, the only time you'll get a description given to you is when it's a big ticket item like a car or expensive electronic item. To find the description yourself you have to check one of the 6 sides of the packaging. Online it's right there in front of you. How great is that?
5.) The store should have a way to put your name and email address into its data base so that they can contact you for customer specials the store might have. This can be a great way to get discounts from that store. You'll get all kinds of notifications about sales, special offers, and possibly some coupons to save you money on your next purchase.
6.) The store should have different ways to accept your payments. Credit cards, check cards, online checks, print out order forms that can be faxed or mailed to them to process orders. The more the better.
7.) The store should have a money back guarantee. This should let you know that if you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, the company will refund all your expenses with no questions asked.
8.) The store should also be listed with the Online BBB.
9.) The store MUST have a secure connection in which to receive your payment. If a company does not have this, I would not suggest using them. Usually you will see some sort of notice that talks about security as it pertains to ordering items online, and a picture of a padlock somewhere.
That's it!!!!!!!!!!! If you have those nine things you are ready to go. Try this method of shopping and decide for yourself. You be the judge. If you are serious about making your life easier when it comes to shopping for the holiday season, then you can't help but giving online shopping a chance. I think you will agree that you can't beat shopping online. Good Luck and Happy Shopping!!!!!
P.S. There are sites that I can recommend when it comes to getting all your online shopping needs met. Contact me for help in this area.

Tips on How to Shop Effectively at a Mall

By

Shopping is one of the most beloved hobbies and spare time activity of women all over the world. No matter which country in the world she is, a woman or a girl cannot resist the temptation of visiting shopping malls or shops to buy things. The rapid rise in the opening of shopping malls at every nook and corner nowadays has made it even easier for women to plan their shopping trips more often than they did before.
Even though most men would find shopping a waste of both time and money, they cannot disregard its importance. This exercise is not only necessary in bringing home the stuff that is required by us daily, but also keeps a person healthy and fit as well. Moreover, shopping at a mall can also result in other benefits as well, such as cashing in on discount deals and sales offered by the different outlets at the mall and having a large number of products to choose from.
However, too much of anything is bad and this is true for shopping as well. Too many trips to the mall can result in a woman wasting her time and money, which she could have used for other constructive purposes. Here are some of the tips that can help a woman in knowing when to visit a mall and how to choose the items put on sale there.
Visit Early
The best time to visit a mall to do shopping is earlier in the day. Visit the mall during the early hours when the shops and outlets are starting to open. The advantage of shopping early is that there are not much people there and the sales representatives at the shops are not distracted because of having too many customers to deal with. Moreover, because of the low crowd present in the mall in the early hours, one can easily roam about the mall and find their favorite shops.
Wear Soft Shoes
Since shopping requires a person to travel on foot and walk consistently for at least an hour or two, wearing a soft sandal or a shoe when going to mall for shopping can keep the feet comfortable and make walking easy. This way, you would not feel tired after spending a few hours in the mall and will remain fresh to do your household chores even when you return from a lengthy shopping trip.
Take a Shopping List with You
Preparing a shopping list and taking it with you to the shopping mall is one of the best tips that can help women in shopping sensibly at a mall. It helps in keeping the spending to a lower level and saving the shopper from buying things that she has no use of. Moreover, it also helps a woman in prioritizing her shopping needs and in keeping her shopping trip brief and concise.
Go Shopping Alone
Another important tip that both men and women would like when going shopping at a mall is to leave the men at home. Taking husbands and brothers to a mall can result in them babbling about the time all the time and how spendthrift you are. Therefore, it is better to leave the men of the family at home when you are planning to visit a mall.
Keeping in mind the above-mentioned tips can significantly increase the efficiency of a woman to sensibly shop at a mall.
No matter which country a girl or woman belongs, shopping would be one of their top priorities. This article shares some amazing tips on how to shop effectively.

Shopping in Kuala Lumpur - Malls, Bazaars and Flea Markets

By

Kuala Lumpur ranks as one of the top shopping destinations in Asia. As all budgets are catered for, you will be enticed to shop till you drop! You can also expect both a fantastic variety of products as well as value for money. From designer labels to home-grown brands, even the discerning shopper will be spoiled for choice. But you may like to bring home something typically Malaysian, in which case, spare some time to shop for ethnic crafts. A wide range can be found at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex and the Central Market.
Among the recommended items are batik (hand-painted or in block motifs available in traditional and contemporary designs, available as pareos, sarongs, scarves, shirts or dresses); songket (cloth intricately handwoven with silver or gold thread); silver items (jewellery, tableware and other home adornments); pewterware (various decorative and functional items); woodcarvings (aboriginal); pottery and ceramic (the choice is mind-boggling, but look out for Sarawak pottery or the Perak labu sayong); and weaved products (from practical bags to trinket boxes).
Places to shop include countless spick-and-span shopping complexes, duty-free shops, department stores, hypermarkets and handicraft centres to make-shift stalls and open-air night markets. Almost all shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur open for business from 10am till 10pm daily, public holidays included.
While the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival which runs from July to September and the Malaysia Savings Sale in December draw hordes of shoppers from around the region with offers of up to 70% discount on store products, you can still find bargains and sales at independent retailers outside scheduled sale carnivals.
Besides larger malls such as Berjaya Times Square, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Suria KLCC and those at the Bukit Bintang and Imbi area, many shopping complexes and departmental stores also offer economical buys such as Pertama Complex, Sogo Departmental Store, Kota Raya and Campbell Complex.
Then there are the numerous shops, flea markets, bazaars and side street stalls, notably dotting Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Masjid India (Little India), Brickfields (another Little India), Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Petaling (Chinatown), Plaza Mont Kiara and even the Sunday Night Market on Jalan Telawi in Bangsar.
On Saturday nights, Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman is closed to vehicles and transformed into a bright and bustling night market with hundreds of stalls selling a gamut of products from foodstuff to leather goods.

Going Shopping and What Women Really Do

By

Shopping is something we do all the time but what do we really do when we go "shopping"? Knowing why and how women shop can make a great difference for a retail business so they can meet our needs but how many shops really think carefully about this?
To me doing errands like getting the groceries and taking orders to the post office is the regular run of the mill shopping. It is part of running a household and a business but it isn't recreational fun.
For most of us "shopping" means an enjoyable outing to the shops, to the shopping mall, online shopping, catalog shopping, street strip shopping, it is recreational and about leisure.
Shopping doesn't actually have to mean spending up big or even spending anything, it can be window shopping where we just go and see what's at the shops, what's happening, check out the new designs, see what's on sale, keeping an eye on that new DVD that's out to see when it is dropping down for bargain shopping, getting gift ideas for upcoming birthdays and events.
Shopping can even be catching up with a girlfriend for coffee and then a wonder round the shops. While shopping can be about buying things it is usually also about being social, exploring, seeking pleasure and being independent.
"Retail therapy" doesn't have to involve spending money either, it can be just as simple as having an evening strolling round the shops and seeing what's happening.
Shops both online and at the mall need to be setup to consider the different ways women shop - whether they're out to buy something or for any other reasons. Knowing why women shop makes this much easier.
Shopping is a community based leisure activity, even if you're wondering about the shops alone, you're still being with others while getting a chance to be yourself in relative peace (compared to how home and work can be). Having a safe, clean, reliable and interesting place to go to get out of the house or escape after work makes for an ideal social place.
We shop because we can, it is very simple. But the reasons we go to the shops are as varied and complex as we are as individuals. Being social at home means doing work beforehand to get it presentable, work is for work so being out at the shops and being social means women don't have to worry or prepare - the café does all of that!
As shopping is a form of escape, even if it isn't always about buying things, looking after the different groups who need to escape makes for smart business. Parents with young children need to get out and about and shops and malls that cater for the little ones will benefit for their efforts.
So women shop for all manner of reasons; social, leisure, pleasure, research, fun and escape. When it's made easy for them they keep going back to the same places.
